Every Autumn, there is always one perfect trail ride. This was it. The river valley was in full seasonal splendor, the weather was perfect and the paths were gloriously illuminated by the morning sun through the golden leaves. As an added bonus I even rode the trails far better than I usually do, managing ride the Cambodia / Pipedream route eastbound mostly without having to walk the bike. On days like this, I almost think that if I’d started seriously mountain biking a couple of decades earlier I might be skilled by now.
Wow – A beautiful place !

Yes, the river valley here is one of the biggest quality of life features for me. It’s impressive to have such a park system run right through the middle of a city of 800,000.

How much longer before all the leaves are gone?

Later that day there was a strong wind that did a good job of removing a lot of the leaves. By the end of October they are usually all gone.

If you had started mountain biking a couple of decades ago, your wrists might well be wrecked by now. MTB always seems very stressful to me. You had a lovely day for it though.

You may be right, though suspension forks are very helpful. On the other hand, the mountain bikers I know tend to have their collection of injuries.

Not to mention broken bikes as well.
